Great Are The Works

Great are the works of the Lord they are pondered by all who delight in them. Psalm 111:2
People are the works of the Lord. Do you delight in them? How often do we view one another with contempt? Frustration? Irritation? Hopelessness? What if the view I adopted was that each person is a work that is great in the sight of the Lord? What if I viewed myself as a work of the Lord and that He is making me a beautiful thing and I don’t know where He is taking me? Do we spend the time pondering, wow what is He up to? Are we not delighted when our strongholds are torn down and new possibilities appear in our lives? What about delighting when our enemy sees new possibilities?
When I think about delight I think of my children. When I give them some small token I have picked up on a trip, or take them out to a special frozen yogurt it’s delightful to them. They are not busy saying, “Mom, I am not having fun because of all the ways you have let me down.” No, they are delighted with what is present in the moment. Delight is possible when I am willing to let go of my records of wrongs. Through the lens of wrongs the most I will “enjoy” is making myself right about who I am , God is, and the world is. How dull. Let me welcome you to the Kingdom of God which is a technicolor extravaganza of great works exploding all around us and within us. Bam! Ponder that!
